Shor-T has always been really into music, whether it was recording her favorite songs on the radio, or recording her favorite videos on Yo! MTV Raps, or making her own mix tapes before she even knew what mix tapes were. This love of music lead her to one of her favorite jobs…working at a CD store in high school. This is where she really beefed up her music collection and knowledge and became dedicated to always learning more.
In college she got into television and radio right away, and loved them both. After college, Shor-T started working in television and began doing what she feels she was always meant to do…DJ. When she heard the brand new Hip-Hop station Hot 107.7/97.3, she knew that’s where she needed to be. She just had to convince the more experienced DJs at the station. It didn’t take long for them to recognize her passion for Hip-Hop and they accepted this little blonde DJ from West Omaha as one of their own. She listened, watched and learned how to be a better DJ from them. She most enjoyed mixing the Old School lunch hour every Friday. In 2008, Shor-T decided to move to Denver to try this DJ thing out in a bigger city. Throughout her three years in Denver, she continued to DJ in clubs, work in radio, and really learned a lot about how to be on-air.
Today she’s a mother, back in her hometown of Omaha, and feels like she’s right where she belongs. Of course you can expect to find Shor-T DJing in the clubs, and you can hear her weekdays from 10am-3pm on Power 106.9.
