Kroger Grocery Stores Give Frontline Workers “Hero Bonus”

 

Kroger is showing it’s support and appreciation for employees working on the frontline in stores during the coronavirus outbreak. The grocery store chain is giving these hourly workers a “hero bonus.” It’ll come in the form of an extra $2 per hour for hours worked from March 29th to April 18th

Cleaning Staff at Hospital Thanked with Round of Applause

 

Medical professionals at a hospital in Spain showed their appreciation for the non-healthcare staff working behind the scenes. Barcelona’s Hospital Sant Joan de Deu posted a video on Twitter showing doctors and nurses giving a round of applause to the cleaning crew, kitchen staff, and security. Their tweet thanked those “non-healthcare professionals who continue to perform their tasks in exceptional circumstances.”

Neighbors Reserve Parking Space for Healthcare Worker

Residents of a U.K. neighborhood are looking out for their healthcare worker neighbor. They’ve marked off a parking space on the road in front of her place so she’ll always have a spot when she gets home from work. The neighbors put up a sign noting the space is reserved and asking others to please respect it.

A dog in Colorado is helping a woman in need during the coronavirus crisis. Karen Evelth’s dog, Sundance, makes grocery runs for her neighbor with COPD who is at high risk of severe illness from coronavirus. The golden retriever gets her grocery list then returns hours later with the bags in her mouth.

Teacher Who Disarmed, Then Hugged Student To Get Medal of Honor

An Oregon high school coach who took a gun away from a student on campus, then hugged him is being recognized for his bravery and compassion. Keanon Lowe is receiving the country’s highest honor from the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation. He’s one of six recipients for 2020 and will receive the Single Act of Heroism Award.
