When it comes to finding true love online, your profile pictures may go a long way to landing a match. But a new survey suggests prospective mates may be interested in looking at more than just a selfie.

A new Dating.com survey finds:

  • More and more singles are embracing the belfie – a selfie of their bottom.
  • In fact, 64% of singles say they’ve sent an online match at least one belfie over the last year.
  • 36% say they’ve never taken a belfie, but more than half would be willing to try it.
  • Women are more likely than men to send a belfie (59% vs. 41%).
  • 75% say belfies have helped improve their self-esteem and overcome their insecurity.
  • This is compared to selfies, which only 40% of people say improve their self-esteem and overcome insecurity.
  • In fact, 60% of folks believe selfies do the exact opposite.
  • 86% of those who sent a belfie enjoyed the experience, while 14% felt some anxiety after sending it.
  • Compare that to selfies, which only 41% describe as an enjoyable experience, with 59% feeling anxiety after sending
  • 98% of those who received a belfie describe the experience as enjoyable.
  • And it sounds like a belfie can certainly help find love, with 77% of people crediting a belfie with improved romantic connections.
