Katy Perry reacts to news she’s related to Taylor Swift: “Well, we fight like cousins”

Kevin Mazur/WireImageKaty Perry and Taylor Swift were rivals once, but now it appears they're related.

Researchers at MyHeritage.com investigated the familial connections between the two stars and discovered that they are, in fact, ninth cousins.

During her appearance on Capital FM’s Capital Breakfast on Friday, Katy was informed of the news.

"Well, we fight like cousins," she joked.

Katy added, "Wow, I'm going to have to ask her if this is true or if we should, like, get blood tests together or something.”

The two officially buried the hatchet last year after a years-spanning feud. Katy appeared as the burger to Taylor's fries in Taylor's video for "You Need to Calm Down."

Katy on Friday released her new single, “Smile,” the title track off her upcoming album.

blackbear's back with "queen of broken hearts"

Sam DameshekSinger, songwriter and producer blackbear -- last heard on Ellie Goulding's single "Worry About Me" -- is back with a new solo track. "queen of broken hearts" is from the artist's upcoming album everything means nothing, which is due out August 21.

In a statement, he says, "‘queen of broken hearts’ is a song that recognizes social media as an evil villain -- while looking introspectively at the bright light on my cell phone and the validation addiction, as well as bringing my other bad habits in relationships & character defects into the light."

everything means nothing will feature blackbear's 2019 hit "hot girl bummer," and this year's "me n ur ghost."

blackbear, born Matthew Musto, has worked with everyone from Justin Bieber to Linkin Park, and appeared on singles with artists ranging from Marshmello, Gucci Mane and Trevor Daniel to Cheat Codes and Machine Gun Kelly.

Lady Gaga named as face of Valentino's new fragrance

Lady Gaga named as face of Valentino's new fragrance

Stuart C. Wilson/Getty ImagesLady Gaga is enjoying the sweet smell of success.

Women’s Wear Daily reports the singer has been tapped as the face of Valentino’s new perfume, Voce Viva.

The fragrance, described as being non-gender specific, will debut in September. Voce Viva translates, fittingly for Gaga, into Living Voice.

“Lady Gaga means freedom, self-consciousness, pure heart,” the fashion house’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, says in a statement to WWD. “Her participation in this campaign elevates the symbolic power of the project to the highest level.”

Garance Delaye, Valentino Beauty global brand president, tells WWD Gaga was chosen for the campaign not only because of the fragrance's name, but because she embodies the values of Valentino -- inclusivity and individuality.

Gaga's ads will debut starting in September.

Dua Lipa serves up trippy animated video for "Hallucinate"

ABC/Image Group LADua Lipa has been the quarantine dance music queen since the release of her disco-inspired album, Future Nostalgia. Now, she’s released the latest single off the album, “Hallucinate,” along with a trippy animated music video.

The clip, inspired by “the Studio 54 aesthetic and cartoons from multiple iconic eras,” features an animated Dua as she dances her way through whimsical scenes with rainbow-colored characters.

“Hallucinate is hereee!! created with love during lockdown,” Dua tweeted. “thank you to the gang that helped me bring this idea to life.”

And to one fan who complained about the video being animated, she wrote, "Did you guys forget that we’ve been in the middle of a pandemic for the past 3 months???"

“Hallucinate” follows previous Future Nostalgia singles “Don’t Start Now,” “Physical,” and “Break My Heart.”

Sara Bareilles unveils first five songs from 'Little Voice' soundtrack

Apple TV+To coincide with the premiere of her new show Little Voice, Sara Bareilles has released the first five songs from the series’ soundtrack.

The Little Voice: Season One, Episodes 1-3 EP, as the title suggests, features songs from the first three episodes of the Apple TV+ series, recorded by the cast.

Sara wrote three of the five songs, the exceptions being Colin Hayes’ “Waiting for My Real Life to Begin” and “Valerie,” a song initially recorded by English indie rock band The Zutons and later covered by Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse. The other tracks are “I Don’t Know Anything,” “Coming Back to You," and "Dear Hope."

Sara is executive-producing Little Voice with J.J. Abrams, as well as providing the episodes with new original songs. The series follows aspiring singer-songwriter Bess King, played by Brittany O’Grady, as she tries to make it in New York City.

The first three Little Voice episodes are available on Apple TV+ now. New episodes will debut every Friday.
